No entry for those wearing green pantyhose.
There’s actually a sign posted at the entrance of this café: Please do not wear green pantyhose; the process of putting them on or taking them off, along with your shoes.disturbs other customers while they enjoy their drinks.
The owner is quite a character, effectively blacklisting mint greenpantyhose altogether.
Lately, mint green pantyhose have become an absolute craze on the Chinese internet.
Influencers are hyping them up, claiming they feature a low saturation, misty-grey tone that looks incredibly sophisticated on yellow-toned skin, with a high-density weave that acts like a skin-smoothing filter.
Countless models, beauty influencers, and sexy-style content creators have been wearing these green stockings in their videos and photos.
Work as a cabin crew for so many years, I’ve seen just about every color of pantyhose imaginable, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen a specific color get outright blacklisted.
The entry rules at this café are quite something.
If you order an Americano and ask for extra sugar, then turn around and complain that it’s too sweet.fine, I’ll let that slide. But when you and your child start stealing the turtles from my fish pond? That, I simply cannot tolerate.
And if you order a Basque cheesecake and then complain that it’s served cold, should I go grab a hot pot to heat it up for you?
To the customers with unwashed or sweaty feet: could you please keep your shoes on while indoors? Don't you have any self-awareness regarding your own foot odor?
I’ve encountered similar situations on flights.
Some passengers take their shoes off the moment they board—and the smell... well, let’s just say the entire cabin suffers.
So, I can certainly understand where this owner is coming from.
The owner even specifically addresses "fake socialites" in the entry rules.
He writes: After you’ve finished changing your pantyhose and applying your makeup, could you please take your stockings and false eyelashes with you when you leave? And could you please stop leaving... Making a total mess?
I’ve come to believe that every bizarre rule out there is actually a precise countermeasure against some equally bizarre behavior.
The owner isn’t targeting mint green stockings; they’re targeting the behavior of people who change their stockings inside the shop, leave them strewn about, and disrupt the experience for others.
Back when I worked on flights to the south, I’d frequently see young women changing their clothes or stockings in the lavatory.
Changing is one thing, but leaving wrappers, packaging, and discarded, worn-out stockings all over the floor? That’s just crossing the line.
The owner even went so far as to say:We don’t offer any 'vibe' here; our items are ridiculously expensive and taste terrible; we provide absolutely no emotional value, you’d be better off going somewhere else.
The owner added:Respect is a two way street; it’s only beautiful when it’s mutual. If communication fails, please forgive me,I cannot host you.
In all my years as a flight attendant, I’ve never minded hard work—what I do mind is a lack of respect.
Some passengers seem to think that being served is their due, and the moment they’re even slightly dissatisfied, they file complaints or leave negative reviews.
There’s nothing wrong with wearing stockings, of course. A low-saturation mint green can actually look quite lovely, sheer, natural, non-fluorescent, and even flattering to one’s skin tone.
The core message of the sign at the café entrance isn’t no green stockings allowed; don’t change your stockings or shoes inside, and don’t take photos that disrupt other customers while they’re enjoying their drinks.
The owner may have been a bit blunt, but the point remains valid.
It’s just like on an airplane: you’re welcome to wear stockings, but you certainly shouldn’t be changing them in the cabin, nor should you be stuffing used pairs into the seat-back pockets.
That’s just basic public etiquette.
Indulging in bad habits until they become second nature is one thing, but following the rules is a true sign that you respect both yourself and the world around you.
